What are soft caps?
Soft caps are a community-developed concept in Elden Ring that help you make the most of your runes by spending them wisely.
Stats in Elden Ring increase and benefit you only up until a certain level. Upon reaching these levels, the stats will provide you with a relatively minimal benefit when leveling them up from here on.
This means that once you reach this level and hit this cap, it is usually a good idea to focus on your other stats and improve them to make the most of your runes.
Once all your stats hit their first soft cap, you can continue leveling them up on your preference until you hit your next soft cap.
Soft caps prevent you from spending more this way and in the sense of the gameplay, ensure that you don’t get an undue advantage by simply focusing on one stat.
Soft Caps for stats in Elden Ring
Here are all the soft caps in Elden Ring. Keep in mind that each stat has around 3 soft caps with some maxing out at 2 soft caps.
The hard cap or the maximum level for each stat in Elden Ring remains level 99.
To generalize, your stat gains will significantly decrease once you get past a soft cap. In some stats this might be highly noticeable while others might just slip under your nose.
