Microsoft has created quite the buzz since the multiplayer beta for Halo Infinite was released to the public a few days ago. Many players have been itching to try out the same and we now finally get a taste of the multiplayer capabilities in Halo Infinite.
Sadly many players have been stuck at the ‘Waiting to Join’ screen when trying to join a multiplayer game. If you have been facing the same then here’s all you need to know about it.
How to fix the Waiting issue on Halo Infinite
You can use the following fixes to get past the ‘Waiting to join’ screen in Halo Infinite.

1. Avoid known bugs
A known bug due to which you might be restricted to this screen is because you are trying to join a friend’s Fireteam in an active match. It could also be that you are trying to rejoin a game with a friend that you left using one of the social menu options.
This is known to cause a login loop which could be the reason why you are stuck at the ‘Waiting to join’ screen. If not, then you can use the fixes below to try and fix your issue.
2. Check Server Status
Halo Infinite is fairly new and if you are not facing network issues then it is likely that the servers are down and inactive. You can check the current server status for Halo Infinite at their official Twitter handle.

If you are not facing a known bug and the servers are up and running, you can try one of the following fixes below. It is highly recommended that you wait some time before opting for the drastic measures mentioned below.

1. Check your Firewall settings
Windows Firewall has been known to cause issues with connectivity which could have you stuck at the ‘Waiting to join’ screen.
Check for denied rules and if you have Firewall disabled we recommend you enable it. This might sound redundant, but some users have managed to fix their issue by simply enabling Firewall on their PCs.
2. Reinstall
We recommend you try and reinstall your game at this point. A corrupted install or a bugged update could be the cause of your connectivity issues.
Reinstalling the game won’t reset your progress as long as you have cloud saves enabled and are using the same login ID.
3. Troubleshoot connection
If a reinstall hasn’t helped you get past the ‘waiting to join’ screen then we recommend you troubleshoot your connection at this point. We recommend you check for firmware updates on your router, blocked websites, IP addresses and more.
