Like most open-world games, Cyberpunk 2077 lets you interact and get personal with other characters from within the game. There are a lot of romance opportunities within the role-playing game, even some that may lead you to possible sex with the character you want.
One such character you might end up meeting very early in the game is Meredith Stout. Here’s how you will be able to get to Meredith and romance with her in Cyberpunk 2077.
Who is Meredith Stout in Cyberpunk 2077?
In one of the missions inside Cyberpunk 2077, you’ll meet Meredith Stout, a female Corpo Agent who you might have seen from the 2018 gameplay reveal of the game. She’s a Senior Operations Manager for Militech which trades in manufacturing weapons in the Night City. Although it has been confirmed that you can indeed romance with the character, don’t expect Meredith to be available for a full-time relationship as she wouldn’t be interested in anything other than one eventful night.
How do you get to her?
When playing Cyberpunk 2077, you will be able to get to Meredith during ‘The Pickup’ quest. In this quest, Meredith will be an optional character you can interact with and the main storyline won’t be affected by this interaction.
In case you’re wondering, ‘The Pickup’ quest is Cyberpunk 2077’s sixth quest under the main storyline, meaning you can get to Meredith Stout and romance her very early in the game.
Meredith Stout: What are her requirements?
Before you make your move to impress Meredith and keep it going, you need to know that you can only romance Meredith Stout if your character (V) is male as Meredith is heterosexual. Your Lifepath doesn’t really matter here as you’ll be able to unlock the scene even if you don’t play Corpo.
How to romance with Meredith Stout
After you have unlocked ‘The Pickup’ quest, you will have the option to talk to the Corpo Meredith Stout. You can approach Meredith normally but make sure you don’t attack her or her bodyguards. She’ll offer you a money chip but it’s up to you whether you want to accept it or not. It’s doesn’t matter what you choose.
What’s important is that you choose the following replies to Meredith’s statements:
- [Shake Hand] Correct.
- I just wanna talk
- Yep. All by my lonesome.
- Don’t Know Him
- You want info. I want a bot. Let’s make a deal.
- No way. Not happening.
After your interaction with Meredith, you will need to go meet the Maelstrom Gang at the Food Processing Plant. If you had taken the money chip from Meredith earlier, then you need to give it to them but you should know that the chip is infected with a virus. Either way, the interaction will result in a gunfight with Maelstrom’s leader Royce and his gang members.
You can interact with the Maelstrom Gang using the following replies:
- [Calm Jackie] Jackie, sit down.
- I’ll pass.
- Show it to me.
- We’ll take it.
- Really expect me to pay twice?
- Prepared to offer us a discount?
- Take Down Royce.
- Shoot Royce.
After this interaction, your objective is to kill Royce and the rest of his gang, then take their Flathead Militech with you and then escape their hideout.
Some time after you complete this mission, you will receive a text from Meredith. You need to press the down arrow on your D-Pad to open your phone and then go to ‘Open Messages’ to view her message. You need to choose the following replies to get to the romance scene:
- Same, Was starting to like you.
- I’ll be there.
Meredith wants you to come to the First floor of the No-Tell Motel where she wants to hook up. The moment you say “I’ll be there”, the “Venus in Furs” quest should start. You will be able to get to the Motel by following the directions in your journal.
Once you reach the location, choose this reply “So What Now?” and this should trigger the romance with Meredith.
What happens after you romance Meredith Stout?
Once you have had your romantic interaction with Meredith, you will get a text from Meredith later and that’s about it. As we mentioned before, Meredith isn’t interested in anything long-term, so don’t expect anything out of it. It was just a fun night and it’s time you put it behind you.
